June Art & Craft Summer Camp
We will, once again, use the fabulous art curriculum and Deep Space Sparkle for all of our art & crafts summer camp classes. Classes are set-up by age and if you need to group your kiddos together it is better to bring the older kids to the younger kid's classes. If younger kids are brought to older kid's classes they will not be able to do the project. All art and craft activities are based on skill development levels for each group. It is always easier to bring the older ones to the younger group.
June is my favorite month. Long days, balmy nights and a promise of the relaxing days to come.
We will jump into our summer vacation with Marine & Sea Life projects throughout the month of June.
We have air-dry clay, papiér maché, and painted paper to name just a few of our projects. This month is a great time to play around with an easy projects like the air dry slab fish (K-2) or watercolor fish (grade 3-4). Grab the kids and see how they manage these mediums.
Teaching older kids? I love the technique of drawing on one piece of paper, creating the background on another and merging the two together. The Chalk Winslow Homer Sailboats (grades 3-4) is a perfect example of how this project works for kids.
For older kids (grades 5-6) practicing more advanced drawing skills such as the Mixed-Media Watercolor Fish and How to Draw a Clipper Ship offers detailed instruction for taking your drawing and painting skills to new heights.
