Pretend Play
Pretend play develops a child’s creativity and the ability to plan for the future. Pretend play begins in early childhood by make-believing toys and objects are real, and evolves
into imagining things that do not exist like unicorns and monsters.
Fun Fact: Pretend play & language involve the same ability to represent things symbolically (words are symbols). Both abilities emerge around the same time in child development.
